Beginning in 1999, as encouraged by its membership and those from several other outside associations, LANA committed to funding a LANA representative (a vet by trade) as an additional llama community member to be consistently involved in government relation issues, to input lama concerns and to bring back information from all USAHA meetings.
This LANA government relations' representative works on a continual basis, in conjunction with representatives from other lama associations, for the benefit of the entire Camelid community. LANA keeps the llama community appraised of situations by publishing the information in the LANA NEWS and sharing it via the Newsletter exchange program.
Dan Mora, DVM, is our LANA representative. Dan will advise the board regarding proposed research projects at the Morris Animal Foundation. All information and funding of Morris research projects will be handled through the LANA office.
